I was in the Army in Germany when the wall came down. I was in and we trained for cold war tactics, and we transitioned to middle east conflict by the time I got out. Wow. Times change.

It was Regan and Yeltsin who were the presidents that were on both sides of the table for quite a few years.

Sad news. I thought Yeltsin had a lot of balls to stand in front of those tanks during the attempted coup. The Soviet Union was such a clusterf*ck by then that it's amazing there wasn't total anarchy.

Gorbachev is still alive isn't he? I think his wife died a few years ago, but I think he's still around.

Plus, he's one of the few world leaders that aren't afraid to "get down" in front of a crowd... it was probably the vodka though.
