Coolant leak, for those keeping track of my recent past coolant issues... after a new T-Stat, new radiator etc... just have developed another coolant leak, mid way, cross-over valve I think, piddling coolant like crazy... luckily I hyave some dexcool filler ready to refill so i can drive to the dealership... man, this year in coolant issues, I thought I was ok now with everything I had done.... looks like it's not over. :-(

I'm taking the Cat in tomorrow... and hopefully it's nothing major... when do you call it quits on fixing a 10 year old car you really love!!!

Update: rear bypass or cross over valve failure dur to increased pressure with new rad and T-stat... the bypass valve is the original one.

138$ for the valve, the whole replacement job (including taxes) 287$ CAD

Yeah that valve fails, I did mine, it was $80 US for the part, and did the work myself.

Ironic thing is, back in 2001 my other dealership mentioned it was 'sweating' a bit, looked like it was starting to leak... cost at the time...400$, I told them, when it starts leaking i'll get it fixed for now, leave it... It lasted till 2 weeks ago (of course now I also have a new T-Stat and new Rad).... LOL

I can do alot of the work, just not very interested in doing it in the gravel after the rain anymore... that used to be fun, when I was younger... LOL
