View Full Version : how do i fix my codes and what do they mean?

hi, i have 94 deville i recently noticed a bunch of history codes and 2 current codes i went through them all and cleared the code system i ended up with 2 codes left po-85 = idle throttle angle to high? where is it located and how can i fix it? then i got a io39 code but it goes from current to history .I HAVE NEW PASSIVE stryt and shock SYSTEM FOR MY FRONT AND BACK just case of the IO39 code but was wondering what the inuts and outputs and override readings ment if anything? can anyone help me with these? thanks

Do a search. THere are several posts in the forum that say what different codes mean and there are some that also have links to other sites that have them listed.

i know what the code means but where do ifind the idle throttle it says the angle is to high? any help?

THat code could mean you have a dirty throttle body.. How many miles on your car?

like brougham said, spend some time reading the forums and all will be revealed..

i have 184,000 maintained vry well i also was wondering would this problem effect my cruise control i have no codes but the po85 and when i put the cruise on it shows on the dash cise is engaged? any help with that thanks
