Hello all!

I have been lovin' driving my 79 SDV. I am aching to dress it up. Aching I say!!!

I was going to put 20" rims on it because I have seen some that look really sharp, but then I thought about backspacing issues, possible rubbing, blah blah blah. So, I am going with whitewalls!

And not small ones, either, but 3" ones. I am thinking of going with 235's. Anybody running that size? I have read that stock size was 215, but on the back mine has 205's. Sheesh!

I want to keep everything as stock as possible ride-wise, because it is so smooth it is unbelievable. I don't want to rub at full turn, either, so if 235's will rub I'll go with 225's or 215's. I do like a little wider tire looks-wise.

Your tire size should be 225 R75 15. You can use the 215's, but they are a little narrow. The next option is the use of the 235's. The 235' will fit in the wheel wells, no sweat, and they won't rub if your car is set at the standard height. I've used both 225's and 235's. I prefer the 225's, because they work better with the narrow Cadillac wheels. Your Cadiilac wheels are 6" wide, so a wider tire like the 235's won't work as well, especially if you drive it in city driving.
You can use 235's with a 7" wide rim, but that would be a custom rim for a Cadillac.

A 1979 Sedan De Ville would have had 215's to start with, Fleetwoods got the 225's.
