It's a sad week...my beloved '97 Seville will be going away on Friday. :crybaby: It shouldn't be that sad, though, because the car IS staying in the family. :highfive:
It's getting transported to my brother in Arizona (I'm in North Carolina). So I went through and made sure any personal effects are out. I also changed the oil for him with some Mobil Delvac 15W-40. I've seen a few posts from the guru about the great qualities of HDEOs and how 15W-40 wouldn't be all that inappropriate for a flat tappet Northstar (especially one now living in Arizona). He's already used to an OLM; his other car is a '99 (supercharged) Corvette. I figure that, if anything, HDEO will be an even longer-lasting motor oil than the regular ol' SM gasoline oils, so he should be completely safe, even in the big temperatures out there.
I'll wash the car later on this week and have it all ready to go. I'll take a good photo of each body panel prior to it being loaded. On the phone, they said they don't use terminals, nor do they transfer cars from one truck to another. It'll arrive in Tuscon strapped down exactly as it left Fayetteville, same truck, same driver. It's a door-to-door transfer, so it should be just fine. It's not cheap, but the car's been in the family almost since day one, and the whole family knows what a gem it is. I wouldn't be disappointed to see it back in my hands one day down the road...
