I recently bought a 1984 Deville. The only problem with it is that the electronic climate control will not work. I bought a different one at a junkyard and hooked it up, and now it will light up except for the lights that show what function is being used and the digital number part. Recently when I was driving it I heard a pulsating sound under the glove compartment and the missing lights flashed on and off with the pulses, then nothing. Another factor is that there is a toggle switch hooked up that will turn the blower on and off, but it only blows the outside temp in, unless I remove one of the vacuum hoses and put a screw in the end of it. Then it blows unbelievably hot air onto my feet. It looks like the wires have been modified somewhat and there are a few wires under the dash that are not hooked up, with no apparent place to be attached at. :hmm: If anyone has any ideas about what is going on with my car I would love to hear it. Also if anyone knows where there is a wiring diagram online that would help me out too. Thanks Dirty

It sounds like someones been playing around with it. The easiest way for you to fix it would probably either be to look at a car at a junk yard to see where everything goes or if you're missing anything or to get a factory service manual for it. You can get them for decent prices on ebay.

I am going to try to fix this problem myself, but I do not have alot of experience with the electrical components of cars. If I hook anything up wrong is there a good potential to do major damage to the electrical system of my car. I have the wiring diagrams, and it looks pretty self explanatory so I am sure I can do it, but I do not want to run the risk of doing more damage. If anyone would let me know what they think I would appreciate it. Thanks dirty
