Has anyone here used the existing stereo wiring to hook up to there own stereo. I'm thinking of throwing in my Sony head unit and my JL Audio speakers but I hate the idea of having to try to run new wiring to my doors.
Can anyone tell me where I can find a wiring diagram for the stereo / speaker wiring in the car. This would make the job much easier and cleaner.

Wow! I can't believe no one here has a clue about the factory stereo wiring.

Bose system? The biggeast obstacle is the fact that most likely the wires going to the speakers come from the BACK of the car. Usually the headunit connects to the module in the trunk, which connects to the speakers in the car.

That's not much of an obstacle! My changer and amps would be in the trunk. So, the front speaker wires are all I would need to find. I'd use better cable for my 6x9's in the trunk.

If your looking to upgrade your system its best to use all new wiring preferably 14au or so. At higher ampiers the thinner (higher guage) wire will not handle the response and make you think your spekers are blown. I am also looking for a wiring diagram for my 97 sls but I just joined the site and haven;t asked yet... did you ever end up getting a response?

Budabear,
Be carefull here and make sure you bypass the OEM amp/s.
This may help.

the actual radio module is in the trunk.. in my Eldorado, it's right next to the power antenna... your BEST bet is to put your own amps in the trunk with RCA cables going to your head unit.. in the trunk at the radio module, you will find ALL the speaker wiring in one connector. to find them, the radio module has the same info that is up above stamped into the module cover.. Just find your speaker wires and there you go.. run them over to your amps output and you're done.. I'm getting ready to do this to my car as my stock sound system sounds HORRIBLE.
