I just had the gas tank on my 71 Eldorado convertible cleaned up and upon being put back the gas guage isn't working. Any ideas on what could cause this and how to fix it? Thank you in advance for your time.

Was it working before? Did you have the sending unit redone, new float and filter? Maybe the sending unit is put in upside down? Otherwise it's more than likely a wiring issue...Thanks

Yea it was working fine before. The sending unit was redone and a new float and filter installed. It was working every now and then for the first month (i.e. it would randomly give a reading on how much gas was in the tank but then drop back down to E), but now nothing. I'll go through the wiring as soon as I get a chance.

Take it from the gauge back, thats the easiest, the gauge may be faulty as well....
