Hello everyone!

I'm new to the forum, and have a simple question.
My buddy just bought an 82 de ville lowrider(hydraulics, etc),and told me it needs a trans.I told him I would help out.
When I put it in the air,the trans wasn't shot...it was missing!
It has a 4.1 liter and supposed to be a 4 spd.auto.

What kind is it? 700R4 or 2004R,or something else?

Please help...he wants to start cruising asap!!

Thank-You
Graham

one of my books shows it as a THM200-4R.

Yep, it's a 200R4. You can also use other transmissions, as long as they have the BOP pattern. The Chevy pattern won't work. You should be able to get a 200 real cheap at a yard. Buy a short warranty from them on it, put fresh fluid in, and all should be good. Trannies are real easy to put in/out.

Thanks!

200's are a dime a dozen!

And you are right about being easy in these(6 acres of room!),should only be an hour to install.
