Nothing at all unique, or that wouldn't otherwise be classified as some sort of a dealer-made accessory package...this time just factory installed, and expensive (apparently) for what you get, unless there's really anything else of substance.

I'm confused about body color grill. it's a second time I hear that, and still can't make sense out of it
all 07 escalades come with color matched grills already.

I have seen them already on VAC web site

The body colored grille is the chrome accents inside the grille is all paint to match, excluding the mesh. If you look at a current 07 grille, it has chrome edges accenting each verticle body-color piece... (did that make sense?) haha

I thought the same thing until I asked a rep.

NOT WORTH THE $4900!!!

Oh well, people will fall for it...

I was flippin through the channels the other day and a lade caught my eye, naturally I had to pause. Since it was some teeny bopper show on MTV they didn't show much of the truck but something looked different about it. Thank god for DVR. I noticed that it had the color matched grille you guys are talking about with the top horizontal bar chromed, the Caddy badge chromed out, and the mesh behind was black. I thought it looked pretty nasty(good).

Anyone know got any pics with the color matched grill?

PS. I agree with Synergetic. Not sure if its worth the $4900. Think the 22's they got now look sick and allot of people put there own exhaust anyway.

ok, I looked closer into those Sport grills, or what ever they are.
"Grille inserts add a distinctive appearance to your Cadillac with this grille insert, featuring a Chrome grille with body color surround"
$265 shipped if anybody interesting (it's still $10 cheaper then gm parts direct)
as far as Exhaust Tips GM offer them in 3 different types.
1. Dual Wall Angle Cut Design
2. Dual Wall Straight Cut Design
3. Dual Wall Oval Cut Design

The rims have been offered for a few years, and they can sell them, at least that is what a Caddy marketing guy told me. I have that grill for sale in d white, and even have that chome tip with my GM performance exhaust system. I was hoping for something a little more Sporting. :(

gmg - from the description that you put out about the grill im not sure if its the same one, at least the one i saw on tv. the only chrome is the top horizontal bar and the badge. everyrthing else was body color. The one that i saw could have been cutom.

thanks for the info though,

GMG is correct, it's the only "other" grill than GM offers, it's the one I have in a box. :)

The grill and wheels are always going to be an issue as far as price being worth it or not.
What kills me is why GM couldn't just put a Chrome exhaust tip on a 60k vehicle from the factory.

I just bought a quicksilver Escalade with the sport package, and while the price is high for the package, it had a $2500 'package discount', making it cheaper than the standard 22's alone, plus the chrome tip and body color grill. I like having unique 22's that aren't aftermarket, technically, and less bling (chrome) is good for me.

Can we see a picture of your Escalade with those wheels on it? I agree with you-- I like something a little different, but not too over the top bling. Any idea on what the cost of those wheels run without the entire package?

Sure, when I pick it up Tuesday or Wednesday - I will be happy to post here.

The wheels themselves on the sticker are (if I recall correctly) $4,695.00 so they ain't cheap, but with the package discount of $2500, it makes them less than the 22's that everybody else has at $2,995.00.

Read the whole thread - the package is around $4900, sure, which is huge markup, but you forget about the $2500 'package savings', which makes the package $2400, so you get the 22's, grill, and exhaust tip for $2400, versus $2999 for the wheels, and $279 for grill and exhaust tip.

I think that is a good deal with the package discount, I would have opted for this Sport Package if it were available to me at the time.

My dealer was trying to charge me around $500 for the Grill Insert with installation. I have found like the rest of you that the aftermarket fully mesh grill looks even better on this vehicle.

I would have liked more deep dish rims, but that is a personal preference. I also would have liked that Chrome Exhaust Tip.

That is FUGLY! The wheels are uglier than the OEM 22 inch wheels, the stock OEM grills looks better with the chrome accent and the $20.00 chrome sleeve that they weld over the stock exhaust tip is a joke.

Come on GM, if you want to sell more vehicles, you have to make them looks nicer than the standard Escalade.

What idiots!

Any pics of the exhaust tip? I'd be curious to see how it compares with the one Automotive Concepts sells for $117.
BTW - teutonictrio - the wheels aren't bad at all. At least they're distinctive from the other 22's that everybody & their grandmother has. As has been said many times on this forum - it's what you think looks good on your truck that counts (within reason :-) )

well... i honestly would prefer the stock 22's by a slim margin... but by a large margin i prefer the stock grill, the solid white dulls it down... but regardless congrats on the truck!

From that angle it looks very much like the Automotice Concepts. Guess I'll drop by my dealer's parts dept. & see if they have any info. My hunch is they'll be getting a lot of inquiries.

I recently bought a 2008 Escalade with Sport Package. This is the details around the package.

on the windows sticker its listed as
"Ultra Luxury Collection Sport Package" 9,630.00

22" Chrome Aluminum Wheels (Replaces Factory)
Body Color Grille
Stainless Steel Exhaust Tip
Advanced DVD-Audio Navagation System with6-Disc CD/MP3 Changer
Rear View Camera
Intellibeam Headlights
Heated & Cooled seats
Heated Steering Wheel
2nd Row Power Seat Release
Power Sliding Sunroof

A couple notes...

When you purchase you have choice of 3 pairs of 22" Cadillac Wheels

22" Wheel - CK366 (http://www.gmaccessorieszone.com/index.php?id=133&tx_gmshopb2b_pi1[division_name]=Cadillac&tx_gmshopb2b_pi1[vehicle_name]=Escalade&tx_gmshopb2b_pi1[year]=2008&tx_gmshopb2b_pi1[sub_product_group]=22%20inch%20Wheel%20-%20CK366&tx_gmshopb2b_pi1[type]=gm_wheels)

22" Wheel - CK916 (http://www.gmaccessorieszone.com/index.php?id=133&tx_gmshopb2b_pi1[division_name]=Cadillac&tx_gmshopb2b_pi1[vehicle_name]=Escalade&tx_gmshopb2b_pi1[year]=2008&tx_gmshopb2b_pi1[sub_product_group]=22%20inch%20Wheel%20-%20CK916&tx_gmshopb2b_pi1[type]=gm_wheels)

These wheels include the Tire Pressure Monitor and new lugs and lug key. The best part is you get to keep the stock 18" 7 Spoke wheels (winter wheels :cool2: )

The Grille, Exhaust, and wheels are installed by dealer. Since you can select wheel option it takes several days to receive wheels unless dealer stocks inventory.

The package is purely looks and no performance.

You can get the tip for like 99 bucks at GM direct I think. It is a simple bolt on. My dealer "comped" me one, so I don't know what a dealer would actually charge.

Re: Corsa: If your truck is leased, I would not be cutting off pieces of the tailpipe myself. Carl buys his, so he can do whatever he wants!

The GM Perf. exhaust tip pictured above that comes with the sport package requires no cutting - it simply bolts on in about 2 minutes. Again, I got mine from the dealer, but I know they can be bought for under 100 bucks. They are top quality stainless - much heavier than I would have expected. The exhaust carbon wipes right off. Much better than the Gibson stainless tip that I had on my Tahoe that cost nearly the same.

Some one on the GM Truck Forum said that no cutting was needed, kind of think it would be pointing at the ground if not cut. JMO

Talking CORSA, right? I agree, cutting is required for that otherwise it will look ridiculous (hanging off too far and pointing towrds the ground). No cutting needed for the GM one. I like the CORSA, but am pretty sure the side exit will draw the attention of the guy who looks at my vehicle upon turn-in (if I do turn it in). The GM looks like it came with the truck and can theoretically be removed.
