I lost panel display,spedo/center control for eng info&climate,I found 3 other units from junk yard,i have regained speedo but no controls on info cluster.
I have spoken to tecnition in nor-cal(speedotec)informss me that later units can't be flashed w/87 program.all j-yard unit's are 88 or newer.
When using car without info center I dont have engine cooling fan,or climate control. Iam thinking of replacing unit with standard gauges & switches
Any suggestions? I have taken all units apart & switched circuit board's around to no avail! Thank's Bill

All these displays are controlled by the BCM (body computer module). I would get an '87 BCM from a wrecking yard, swap out the prom that retains mileage from your old BCM. Might try wiggling the wire connector to it first. Another item that would affect this is a central power supply. I believe its located above the gas pedal. Remove two 10 mm. nuts from the studs on the central power supplyto remove. I would also wiggle the wire connector to it. Sometimes slight corrosion on the connector will cause this. Use di-electric grease (tune up grease) on the connector regardless of whether you replace the power supply or not. My experience would lean towards the central power supply first, BCM second, excess alternator output third. Good luck, Bill.
