My ESV is usually in the 12-13 mpg range...Today I had a bit of a ride that was pretty much a straight highway at 70-75mph. I reset the trip computer for the MPG's and couldnt believe what I saw.....18.4 mpgs on a 125 mile trip! Not to shabby for something that BIG!

I was getting around that on my previous 07 ESV after about 5,000 miles. I've started all over again now with my replacement unit and am averaging about 12-13mpg @ 300 miles.

It's amazing how much smoother and more efficient things get when you throw some miles at it and things begin to seat/break-in. My previous esv was a bit rough (slight vibration, etc.) and then at about 1,500 miles the mileage improved, the vibration was gone, etc. It's starting all over with the new one too - right down to the same vibration (minor.)

I have a 07 EXT. On my 126 mile trip to the lake house I got 21.3 MPG.

I filled up and reset the trip & MPG setting and then jumped right on the freeway. (no city driving) I was going between 60-65 the whole way.
I was very easy on the gas. I hit no traffic and just drove real smooth.
My fathers 07 Esclade has had the same mileage per gallon.

Up and back to the Pocono's at 70-80 mph, 215 mile round trip got 19.1, 1600 miles and synthetic oils, probably easy 20 mpg when not going up big hills. Around town I get 11.0 to 11.2 :)

I've been getting 13.2 MPG with 60 miles per day on the highway and LOTS of driving in town. I finally got over the 13 MPG mark after putting on my Corsa exhaust. I already had Volant cold air induction and Superchips programmer rocking it.

Paying $3.50 a gallon for high octane here in Socal.....oh well.

Just drove to Orlando and back from St. Louis in our 07 ESV. Loaded with six kids, wife and a back full of junk. Reset the MPG before leaving. We got 16.9 MPG while driving pretty fast, between 80 - 90 mph. Sometimes a little higher than 90 mph.

Now how is this possible? I was amazed!

BTW, the ESV is amazing to drive at higher speeds on the highway. It does not feel anywhere as big as it is.

We don't get anywhere near this driving around town. We are coming from a Navigator and usually get about 11-12 mpg on the same trip. But usually also drive about 10 mph less. This is a savings of about $125. That is pretty impressive.

I was a little disapointed in the power of our ESV through the mountains in Tenn. I thought it would be very noticeably more powerful than the Navigator but I really noticed little difference.

You did not notice 100 plus hp? and almost 100 ft lbs of torque difference, take it back to the dealer you must have a problem with your truck. ;)

That is what I am thinking. That maybe there is something wrong with the vehicle. We have a medium size hill near the house on the way to Six Flags. The truck really strains on this hill. THis has been true from the day we got the truck. I am thinking that possibly there is something wrong with it

My ESV has @9500 miles on it. I must say over 18MPG's with my wife 3 kids and baseball equipment aint to shabby! Cadillac should use this thread to promote the highway fuel effeciency of its big SUV! Back in town though it is as stated before mid twelves...Looking forward to my summer drive down to Myrtle beach!!! Try taking a family of 5 for a week away in a Prius! On a different note...My 90 Eldorado has been averaging @22 MPG's with almost 150k on the clock!
