I work in downtown, and took a short walk during my lunch break and saw this....

Very rare do we ever see this exotic car around.

Can you guys name what it is?

I snapped the pics with my phone camera, so the quality is not that good. But damn, was it nice in person!

Yup, it's an Esperante. SVT Cobra with a sweet body kit, basically. I've never been a big fan.

Yep, you got it.

I was walking when I noticed the car and thought it was an RX-7. But as I came closer, it wasnt.

It sure looks nice in person, than the pics I took.

Here's info about the car.

It sounds exotic to me. Each is completely handmade and only a few hundred are built each year. It has an aluminum chassis and lightweight aluminum body using superplastic forming. The car also features full carbon fiber superstructures. It weighs only 3,197 pounds and propelled by a 305 HP aluminum 4.6L 4 cam Ford V-8. (Lots of potential)

MSRP starts at $88,950 and every Esperante is backed by a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty, 24-hour roadside assistance and can be maintained by any Panoz, Lincoln-Mercury, or Ford Service Center.

3197#????? a stock mustang is 3400...you think with a stirred aluminum frame and carbon fiber it would be less

I dont like it, not even a Cobra underneath (although I believe the supercharged motor was optional). Its got the drivetrain from a Mach 1 Mustang. Its even got SVT gauges and Ford parts all over the place. Nothing wrong with any of that BUT.......not for $88k!. :alchi:

305 hp doesn't sound like very much either...

I always thought they were cool but not for the price.

~$55k will get you a tube framed, fiber bodied, not street legal club racer version with the same mustang drive train. That's kinda cool too but still a lot of money for a go cart.
