The one under the hood is your serpentine belt. Here is an image for the timing belt.

New to forum. Name; Icantdr55. I can't seem to get the timing marks aligned. It seem as if one side is 1/2 tooth off and on the other side both marks are right on. Is there a certian direction the belt must be install? 2003 cts 3.2l v6. I put on the new belt and started the car ran fine, but then check engine light start flashing. as long as it's flashing, car has no misfire. As soon as light begin to flash engine starts to misfire. could this be because the timing may be half a tooth off? Need help fast. Thank, Icantdr55.:helpless:
