Okay.......I give up......where is the dipstick located (some may say on the other end of this question) for the automatic transmission????

It is a 2004 SRX N* AWD

No dipstick sealed tranny, need lift and proper technique (temp etc) to pull plug to check level

Unbelieveable, but true - no dipstick - same situation on my wife's 2001 SLS. There must be a good reason for this (ie. ensures no contamination?). Perhaps EWILL knows......

Adding what's been posted, temp range is 86-122F and check with engine running. Correct level is at the bottom of the threads in the check plug hole. Wonder if anyone makes an aftermarket dipstick for this trans.?

GM Powertrain decided that a major cause of transmission problems was uneducated people dinking with them, introducing dirt, and wrong fill levels. The new factory where the transmissions is assembled is a clean room and the transmissions are sealed.
