I just got a call from my girlfriend with a stuck emergency brake. It's on a 96 Eldorado. I'm stuck at work and can't go. Any tips I can give her to get it released ? - Thanks

That's a common thing to try first anyway. Matthew 03-23-04, 05:37 PM put the car in gear, thats how my ebrake is release on my 94 sedan deville. joeveto 03-23-04, 08:43 PM I agree with the above. Put the car in gear. If that doesn't work, there is an emergency release method, outlined in the owner's manual. Off hand, I can't remember, but I think you reach up by the pedal and there is a manual release, in case something goes wrong. 79 Seville 03-23-04, 08:52 PM Just go out there after work and make up a story that you and your girlfriend will have to get in the back seat and look around for a shaft to pull on. That will relieve a stressful situation everytime! caddypimp93 04-01-04, 02:53 PM i agree with the above post but, anyway, my 93 seville releases when i put it in gear but my 91 deville has to be released with the manual release, which is located at the very top of the pedal , just follow the beam and its on the right side | |
