I'm told a lot of Porsche "purists" dislike the Cayman. It's just as the 911 and waaayy more affordable. (I'm told) with a different set of gears the Cayman would smoke the 911's times. True or not it's a sweet ride...I just don't know where I'd put the kid's car seat.

There was another thread about this car within the last couple of weeks. The interior is stunning, and the car has great lines. And I think it has room for a car seat. :hide: :p

I thought he meant the porsche...but now that I think about it...I don't think Sandy would ever buy a porsche, no matter what, so now I feel dumb. :)

Don't feel dumb, Spyder-Man. My fault. ChryCo had a block on copying pics & then re-posting them, so I had to hunt a "good" one down. It took like 6 minutes. to find one.

I think I have a looong wait for it - IF IF IF they ever make it. I know it's gonna be real pricey, probably more than a Town Car and just under a STS V-8. But, I just gotta have it. I'll sell my 2003 Town Car & my 2001 Cherokee, kick in 15 thou and finance the rest. I'll eat eggs & pancakes for dinner, and dine at White Cadtle & Wendys.....read in the dark, but I gotta gotta have it. It's right after air & water.

Imperial.

My Mom & Dad had 22 consecutive Imperials (1957-1978). I had a 1968 (my 1st new car) followed by a 1976 & then a 1982. How could I NOT ??
Since 1982 I've had 1 Caddy (the '93 I still have) and 3 Lincolns (1986 / 1998 & 2003. I need to get back to Imperial. I am like a duck outta water. Like a 60 year old guy in a Pro Stock Camaro.....

lol want me to edit that first post so folks know what this is about?

Sure, why not! Go for it.

It's weird 'cause they have displayed that 1 prototype at many many shows, but they are ever guardful of their pictures of it ?? ??

Problem is that the CryCo dealers in my suburban area are all like meat processing houses, that even I after 27 years in the business, would not venture into. I have to go down to the Princeton (N.J.) area, where every dealer is like a Bible Class Leader or a nursing school. It's sorta like if every Mercedes dealer was tied in with Hyundai and they attempted to sell every Benz, as they do a Hyundai. Comes from years & year of selling Plymouth Valiants for $ 1,995.00 ! The Cadillac dealer in this county (just one) is horrific, and loses alot of people to the Lincoln dealer who is a real straight shooter, honest, sticks to promises, and says "No" when he can't so something. not "Yes" and then backs out. Actually he is the #1 rated Lincoln dealer in America, having won the Ford "Presidents" award for 9 consecutive years. Their CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index Score) is always 97 to 100. The Caddy dealer is in the low 70s. The Chrysler dealers compete for the high fiftes to low sisties.

I agree Sandy; you absolutely have
to get a new era Imperial when
available.

Moreover, I respectfully suggest that
your son make a significant donation,
so as to avoid you having to finance
any portion; particularly in view of his
benefitting from your years of onerous
tuition payments.

Best Regards,

Oh man, Tom, you are a dreamer. He has a girlfriend now, and we hardly see him. He bought himself a new car, has car payments, works from 8AM until 10 PM 5 days a week and spends Friday Night until Sunday night at the girl's house. This here has become Motel-6 for him weekday nights. I am not happy about his choices, but at 23 he is an adult and does WTF he wishes. He is NOT me. Many of the Chrysler-Jeep dealers in my area & surrounding area are bad dealers. Finding a decent place to buy will not be easy. I am a person who likes to buy locally, ya know, in my "Trade Zone" - But here the dealers are all "H.W.H" Highway Whore Houses, wham bam ........
I know of some small, private, family owned dealerships but they are not conviently located for me....so, we'll see....Plus I have to get myself prepaired for an onslaught of "Why on earth would you buy THAT?" questions; You didn't want a Lexus. BMW, Mercedes? My favorite reply to THAT has always been, "No, they were not expensive enough"
THAT shuts 'em up real quick ! :bigroll:

Here's some pics of the Imperial concept I took at the auto show I went to a couple of days ago. It's a much better looking car in person, with a b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l interior!

Wow, now that's a nice looking interior. I love the lighting on the back seats. And look at those doors!

T hat THUMP was me falling over

Thruthfully, I am less than happy with the back end. The trunk sculpture is right off a 1978 Dodge Diplomat Coupe. The tailights are lifted directly off the Chrysler Crossfire. I don't like the plexiglas covers on them. The rest of the car I like, alot. It's in your face. People are gonna notice it. They are either gonna hate it or loce it, but the ARE gonna sit up & take notice. That color isn't bad. It's different & looks good on it. The interior is very dramatic. I was surprised to see the power seat switchs mounted low on the seat sides. Caddy & Lincoln's are better mounted on the driver side armrest panel. I really like the front ! It scream MOVE. Now, what we need is the full Hemi underhood. The 6.1 Litre puppy. Love the wheels! The greenhouse is right off a 300, did you notice? If not, cover the entire lower part - the body and just look at the window area. It looks very very heavy, almost tank-like. I heard that they were looking into electric doors on the passenger side only, controlled by the driver's door panel. How cool to hit both at the same time and both passenger side doors open electronically like dutch doors. Bean counters will probably ditch it.
My suggestion? Do the electric passenger doors, and deep six those flimsy looking taillamp covers. Use a palette of in-between sorta kinda maybe colors, like the one we see here. No difinate colors - well except black & pearl white. Use a grey undertone. Grey-Blue; Gery-Green, Fawn-Gold, Silver-Beige, that kinda look. Pastel interiors + black.
and most of all.....DO IT:bouncy: I wish my Dad was still alive & still owned his 1/3rd of that ICP dealership. We'd have one the 1st month they we "out".
But that was a long long time ago. :bigroll:
