How many speeds does the radiator's fans got, ?? one speed or more, or it depend on the temperature , I'm asking that because I think my radiator's fans are slow… any ideas? :bigroll:

I'm driving 96 STS

2 speeds. Low at 224 degrees and high at 229 (I think).

Ranger, you are close enough.
The exact specs are:
Low Speed Fan Operation 229°F
High Speed Fan Operation 234°F
These specs are for 98+ I could not find 96MY but, I guessing there're close.
Its hard to believe they let the N* get that hot for high speed fan operation.

Thanks Frank. I could have swore that 224 was correct, but you know what they say, "the memory is the second thing to go".

Fast -n- faster.

But, explain ..."slow".... are you meaning unusually slow?

Slow like I cant hear the sound of the fans moving

That's the point. Most of the time, low speed operation is sufficient for proper cooling. But if the engine does heat up further, the fans will go to a higher speed, and you WILL hear them then.

Cadillacs are quality vehicles, and nothing was overlooked. :) Even the audible noise from the cooling fans.

Well, you could put a baseball card on a fin, if that would make you feel better!

I know what you're talking about. My 89 does that. When they're on slow it's really slow like you can see the blades almost but when the car gets hot they spin right up so I guess it's normal?
