I finally pulled the trigger on my 2005 STS V8 1SG with ACC. I drove it 800 miles home on Friday and it was like a dream come true. I have been waiting since the summer of 2004 to finally be able to afford one.
I was very pleased with every aspect of the car. Some post have been negative about the 2005, but I was seriously impressed.
My STS has Z rated tires. Does that mean I have the performance handling package (Build code QAF)?
A road trip is a GREAT way to start car ownership. Congrats Ben!

Hi Ben,
yes, you have the performance handling package and your speed-limiter is set somewhere between 155-158 mph.
Congratulations on your new ride:thumbsup:

Greetings Benjamin Simon
I have a STS V8 2005 and it is an absolute superb premium luxury performance luxury performance sedan. I performed a six month evaluation and Cadillac's was my #1 choice and BMW 545i and GS430 tied for my #2 luxury sedans. All of these luxury cars are wonderful in my view, but Cadillac STS is remains my favorite and best in class.

Thanks everyone.
I had to buy it in Houston. It was only a 15 hour drive to Georgia...
I don't think i will be going over 150mph but you never know:)
A great thing about the car is it was only 10 months since first purchased. I was shocked to find it was warranty started May of 2006.
I had to drive my old 99 STS back from the airport. It was like night and day. It felt so sloppy. Almost as fast, but sloppy in a hard turn.
The dealer still has not taken the car down from autotrader. I cannot find my camera.

Looks nice. I like silver smoke.

Congrats! I pulled up the auto trader and you got one great deal. That is about the same price I paid for my Infrared and it had many more miles on it!

I almost wreaked my new STS. I was just getting out of a turn and gave it all the gas and it started to fishtail really bad. I was like WTF! Lucky for me, there were no car around.
I have never owned a RWD car. I became very accustomed to the FWD of my 99 STS.
I like to test limits and now I know where they are at in this capacity.

Hi Ben, seems like you had your TC and stability track turned off!

Congrats on the purchase. I have a '06 STS V8 SE package. The car fish tails in wet weather with everything turned on. I have learned to be careful in wet weather. I came from a front drive car myself and the first time it happened, I said whoa!!!!
Have fun and a safe trip home
