As I was reading that GM vs Toyota article I started wondering:

Is there anything the US exports aside soldiers?

What do we make that the world needs and can't live without? I know the US electronics division is lacking and the one thing we really make tons of are processors and cars.

What else do we make that we sell globally?

Tobacco, Jack Daniels, Firearms, Playboy, not too mention Duct (Duck) Tape, Pacemakers, Stents, etc. There is PLENTY that the world buys off of the United States. :alchi:

Oh yeah how could I forget the multiple pharmaceutical compannies we house!

I thought Africa, the Middle East and Canada exported more tobacca to the US then the US exported to other regions.

And as far as I'm concerned aren't most firearms imported to the US?

Have you ever seen an F1 race? All you see is the Marb symbol. EVERYWHERE! As for the guns, I know that a lot of them are still US owned. As much as I also hate to admit it Anheuser-Busch. Microsoft, General Mills, Coke & Pepsi, etc. These are just off the top of my head & public. Then you have companies like Cargill (Talk about MAJOR bucks). :alchi:

Thanks CIWS for the links.

Holy crap using two links I found within the links CIWS shared:
http://www.ita.doc.gov/td/ocg/exptab.htm
http://www.ita.doc.gov/td/ocg/imptab.htm

It seems the US imports more then it exports. On cases where it exports it only exports barely .6 billion more then it imports.

This is some interesting stuff.

Under Small Arms the US exported 258,322 in FAS value (any one know what FAS value is) and imported 514,523 in FAS value.

90% of the crawdads that are eaten in Europe come from California. Rice, Olives, Oranges, Kiwis...most of them consumed around the world come from California.

Here's to calm the Importing more vs. exporting issue..

1: From the soldiers we create Free People

2: Grain, wheat, corn for both people and livestock. Our being the breadbasket for the world remains for us to be the most blessed and strongest country in the world.

3: The most precious resources that all man needs for sustenance above all material concerns.
