updates on 2008 Escalade

I am in the market for a new truck. I currently have a 2001 yukon SLT fully loaded, but at that time fully loaded meant you got the cassette player also. I want more luxury and everybody has told me go for the Escalade, but I keep reading on your boards that it's missing tilt/tele wheel, bluetooth, and express windows. These are items that are standard on some 20k cars!!! Is there any updates on the 2008 model. By the way I love the new Radio system from the 2008 CTS with hard drive and stuff, maybe that is why cadillac had that promo with free nav, maybe they are updating all their radios???? I hope so Thanks for any info you might have

It has tilt wheel just not telescoping, and the windows are express down , you will hear owners with problems on this site, I blew an engine at 897 miles, they replaced my truck, I have two 07's, and they have both been great so far. You probably will not hear about the changes to the 08' model until late spring to early summer, but of course they have to change somethings to keep people coming back and buying them.

Info. on the 2008's won't be available until late March/early April.

Hcvone, Hold the window button for a sec. when you roll your windows down, The 07 does have express down.

I still think the tilt wheel is a big thing. Its not super important but being that the nicer vehicles like the DTS have it, then it should be on the Escalade.

2009 Escalade's are supposed to be re-designed. Well the front and rear end anyways. Its supposed to look "meaner" and there will be a ' V ' model coming out late '09 offering a V10 engine pumping around 500hp. Just some rumors.

I am guessing the 2008's should be at the dealers around August. I am hoping that by the New York Autoshow they may have more information on the 2008's.

Yes. As said, the information is due to be viewable online (in GM catalog's) on April 2nd.

Production of the 2008 Escalade and Escalade ESV starts June 25th, followed by the Escalade EXT on July 16th. So, the first two models should at least start hitting lots in July.

I guess we can only hope for a telescoping wheel, platinum edition, and heated/cooled cupholders. I think Bluetooth and factory iPod might be a ways off.

I was under the understanding that they were skipping the true 2008 model year for all but a new Platinum Edition and using the 2009 models to unveil the high horsepower hybrid as well as other significant tweaks to the existing model. Frankly - there isn't alot they can dramatically do right now with the limitations of the common 900 platform underbelly (as in fold flat 3rd row or better 2nd rows, etc.). That leaves the add-ons and cosmetic alterations as the primary alteration points.

what bothers me the most about this truck,is that even in 2007,Cadillac still does'nt offer a floor-shifter for this vehicle.the H2's have had one every since it's debut.what's up with that?Cadillac played it too conservative with this vehicle if you ask me.they share too many body panels with the Tahoe/Yukon.they should've gone much further with the "conservitave styling".Bring back the "break-thru" designs that set it further apart from the rest of the crowd!!!!!!!!!!! they desperately need an IRS on the back,fold flat third row seats,paddle-shifters on the steering wheel as well as the floor-shifter.Heck the stinkin-lincoln (as ugly as it is on the outside) has a floor-shifter.for this type of money spent on this truck,i'd settle for buying a tahoe.

Until you 'smell' the difference. I too shared your thoughts. I drive a Black 2005 EXT and the 2007 Avalanche is IDENTICAL to the EXT from the A-pillars back when you get them both in Black. Was really seriously thinking about the Chevy. Until I took some seat time. THAT'S where a big difference resides. The Chevy reeks of plastic. The Cadillac smells, well - RICH.
