complete video integration 07 escalade (using GM original remote control)

Remove this ad
this install was a complete duplication of those escalades that comes with rear seat entertainment.
this set up had 2 of 9 inch headrest monitors, one with built in DVD, and 2 7 inch in the rear seat. so this is what you can do
1. You can play 2 movies simultaniusly (one from factory DVD and 1 from haedrest DVD
2. driver can listen XM/FM/his own CD's at the same time, while other DVD's are in progress
3. users (kids) can select any of those sourses independately on their screens
4. while driver listen his own music,at the same time kids can use factory original remote control to operate factory DVD player. (the one is on the dash)
5 no fm modulators
I don't have price for that yet, this was the test and I need to check If I'll be able to get enough supply. GM was very horrible lately with parts for new vehicles.

Very Nice! Can all this be done with a factory GPS radio?

I guess I don't understand whats the Infrared Module doing behind the radio. It looks like it would work nice though!

On escalades that came with rear seat entertainment from factory. this ifrared module is part of the overhead monitor. So since this escalade did not come with RSE, and if i had that piece exposed, it would not look right. That's why i had to hide it and use infrared repeater,so everything would look cleaner and less visible

Does the Infrared repeter work for just the remote or the remote and the headphones?

Re: complete video integration 07 escalade (using GM original remote control)

Clean setup! I like how that works. I do plan on getting the Factory Rear Seat Entertainment and adding the headrests. But what I can do is just use the Vizualogic headphones cause they can do the factory or Vizualogic DVD player.

Re: complete video integration 07 escalade (using GM original remote control)

if you want to add headrest screens to factory RSE, you cant use vizualogic headphones. there is going to be interference with factory ones. so what I did on one of my installs, is I disabled headphones option on vizualogic screens and used 900Mhz dual channel headphones.

Re: complete video integration 07 escalade (using GM original remote control)

I don't think Unwired has 900 mhz headphones. the only ones I've seen from them was 49 Mhz. and they don't work right anyway. so much distortions. I use Nesa headphones. you can actually walk away drom the car up to 100 ft, and still be able to hear sound.
