    2007 Rain Sensing Wipers Question

My wife and I both have 2007 Escalades. On mine when I have the wiper control set to the 3rd delay and start my car the wipers do nothing. When my wife starts her car with the wiper control set to the 3rd delay the wipers swipe once. I think mine is the way the wipers are suppose to work. Please tell me how yours works.

    Thanks
    Denny

Re: 2007 Rain Sensing Wipers Question

Mine will give one wipe when left on. I assume they do this to remind me that they are on. Problem is, after a few days of dust and bugs, it makes a mess. I leave mine OFF until there is actual moisture.

Here in Tahoe, there is usually no rain during the summer and fall, and mostly snow in the winter.

I found out that GM calls this a "Phantom Wipe" and there is a software fix for it.

Your wifes is correct, I have three cars with rain sensing wipers and they all wipe once when started up with the switch on.

page 15 of the customer/convenience/personalization guide says will wipe 1x time if left on to indicate activation. doesn't say specifc on start,

I thought it said it in the big manual, it doesn't, sorry. but mine goes on at start and doesn't sweep until moisture or re-start

Re: 2007 Rain Sensing Wipers Question

Just so you all know. There is a Cadillac software fix the eliminates the wiper swipe when you first start the car. They are going to fix my wife's Escalade on Monday.

Re: 2007 Rain Sensing Wipers Question

Let us know what they do to get around this, because it is suppose to wipe once when you start the truck if the wiper switch is in the on position.

Re: 2007 Rain Sensing Wipers Question

It is NOT suppose to swipe once when you start the 2007 Escalade with the delayed wiper switch on. On the first ones that came out there was a software glitch. My wife dropped her's off this morning for the software fix (her's was built in 04/2006). Mine was built in 06/2006 and my wipers do NOT swipe when I start the car with the wiper switch set to the middle of the delay settings.

    Stupid Question:

How the hell do you activate the auto sensing wipers?

    Second Stupid Question:

How the hell do you activate the auto sensing brights? They were on at one time, now they seem to be off.

    Yes... I hate manuals.

Re: 2007 Rain Sensing Wipers Question

When you put the wiper switch to one of the delayed settings (I use the third one) that will turn the auto sensing wipers on. Now when I set the switch to the 3rd delay the wipers swiped once. But, from then on they will not swipe when you start the car and will automatically sense rain and come on. The dealership just did the software upgrade to my wife's car today and it works.

Sorry I'm not up on the headlights yet .... sorry.
