    07 ESV Opinions

    Hello,

I have my '07 ESV on order -- should be here in mid-July! For those who already have it, how do you like it thus far?

I was really quite torn (still am) between the Yukon XL and the ESV for the simple reason that I have a wife and kids. After driving both, for once, the Cadillac has a significantly better interior appointments, style and overall ride. (Having owned an '06, I really couldn't say this for previous years) -- the question remains, is it worth the upgrade? Time will tell and I do hope so.

Again, I have kids, do a lot of traveling, etc.. so I'm not really buying it for the bling factor, but rather the usual middle-aged want-some-luxury rhetoric. Do you think I'll be pleased with it, with that said? I did order the 22" wheels and am wondering what those who have them think... does it pose ride quality issues? I wanted to go with the 18"'s, but my wife thought it looked silly and I tended to agree. I just hope I've not sacrificed ride quality for looks.

Looks like a beautiful truck -- now if we could only get GM to throw some bluetooth in it and/or make onstar useful, I'd be a totally happy camper.

    Thanks for your thoughts/opinions!

Welcome to the Forum. I have had 6 Suburban's before my Escalade, and the Caddy is much nicer. I use OnStar everyday for the phone feature, it works great for my needs. I am sure you will be very pleased.

I ordered an '07 ESV also.

I previously had a Yukon Denali XL.

The ESV just seemed like the logical creature comfort upgrade for a series of Vehicle that I loved anyways.

Ordered an ESV for my wife. Still waiting for it...probably not till August. I felt the looks and appointments far execeeded the Denali. I felt if I got the Denali I would have always said I should have spent a couple of bucks more for the Lade

I've been curious as well. I have an '07 Denali XL on order. For me, the ESV is a $10,000 upgrade. What features besides the analog clock and the cooling seats does the ESV offer over the Denali?

I'm reading around and hoping that I won't regret it. I comfort myself by knowing that I am buying my 15-year old son a car next year with the savings.

Hopefully, this won't start a my dog is bigger than your dog argument.

    Thanks,

The differences are few, but here's the list:

    1. Navigation screen is larger.

    2. Center console has more functions, although a bit more complicated.

    3. HID headlights. ($3000 a pair if replacement needed, w/bulbs).

    4. LED tail-lights and front marker lights.

    5. As you mentioned, cooled seats.

Other than that, it's styling and name.

I have had 2 Denali's since 2001, and loved them other than the 4 spd transmissions. The reason I moved up is that I didn't quite like the way GM made the new Yukon front end look like the lower end Envoys. I think they should have kept a significantly different headlight "look", as the previous years had the lens rather than refective headlights.

I forgot about the Xeon headlights. That's VERY nice. I know that the NAV screen rotates too. The Lade ain't no joke.

    Thanks for the information!

I'm guessing there's also a difference in ride quality.. The Escalade is probably smoother...

The interior and leather appointments will hold up better over time in the Escalade. Better headliner and leather type. After 2-5 years of wear on the leather, the escalades Leather will look much better. Also don't forget the "Wow!" factor. Will get way more looks in a stock lade ESV with 22"s than you would a stock Yukon XL.

I picked mine up on monday. Traded in a rx330. Damn is this truck big!!Very easy to drive though.I got an Esv with every option. So far I love it.Except im averaging 10mpg.But I pretty much expected that before buying it. Still trying to figure out the nav and the radio and all the other goodies.
I test drove the denali xl. Very similar I decided to go with the caddy because of the styling. I like the outside appearance but the interior is much nicer on the caddy. Cant say if its that much of a diff. to justify the $$.
Probably cant go wrong either way
    Good luck

Congratulations on the new ESV Paul! I can't believe you were able to get one so quickly. Welcome to the family! I'm sure you will be able to get some better mpg when it breaks in. Please post some pictures when you get a chance. I can't wait to see your 2007. Enjoy!

    Thanks.
