Well, i have posed the same question on this and the GM forum. From what i can gather, the intake will help a little and a custom exhaust prolly wont help (but i am gonna install a Corsa exhaust when they come out for shits and giggles anyway).
99% of the people say that the only real way to help your gas mileage is to be conscious of it 24-7. By that i mean, coast downhill when possible and when you see a light turn yellow or red and you are hundreds of feet/yards away...let off the gas. On long trips, sacrifice a little speed for better fuel economy and back your cruise control down a lil bit. Also eliminate idle time when you are getting 0 miles per gallon. If you are going to be talking to somebody or in the store for longer than a minute or so, turn your truck off etc.
I wish there was some bolt/add on piece of equipment that could automatically give you 20mpg...but if there is, i havent found it.
As my EXT is roughly the same size as your EXT (length, height and width)...i imagine i will be on here in about a month or so with the same complaints you have.  |
