Hello folks!
Quick question for your GM/Escalade experts out there!
Like so many others, of course, one of my headlamps has developed some pretty horrendous condensation, to the point of frying the ballast and the bulb.
I fixed everything and as per the advice on a dozen of these threads, sealed my enclosure with silicone/caulking/etc, all over the place.
Well, guess what? The condensation started coming back.
I read a few people talk about "vents" or "vent holes" on the housings, which may be blocked or clogged.
I therefore did a test by removing the back of the DRL cover, thus allowing the housing to breathe, and sure enough, no condensation for a week!
Of course, I'd rather not leave it open...but it does lead me to believe that the problem DOES involved the unit being vented.
So, my big question is... Where are these vent holes everyone speaks of?
Does anyone know? Can someone please let me in the right direction?
Rather than drill holes to allow the units to vent and equalize, I'd really like to focus on the vents.
(And yes, I did bake them in the oven; use a hair dryer; seal everything up.... The only solution was to remove one of the caps, and it's been great.
Thanks for any help you can offer!
