Air compressor when I start engine

Is it normal to hear the air compressor kick on for approximately 4 seconds when I start my 2007 Escalade? When standing outside the vehicle I can hear it no problem. Inside, you would not notice unless I pointed it out to you. No problems with the ride whatsoever. Also, I live MA and its been a brutal winter. Does the cold weather make a difference? I have owned the Escalade for just over two months now.

Sound like mine, just leveling up.

    Hello zeusp28mp,

I see that you have gotten some great advice from the community. If you are still worried that your Escalade is not operating normally, I would be more than happy to send your question with your VIN to an internal resource or assist you in setting up an appointment with your dealership to have this looked into. Please feel free to private message me or send me an email at socialmedia@gm.com with “ATTN GREG” in the subject line if this is something that you would like me to do.

Thank you, almost took it to local dealer. Glad I asked.
