2007 EXT noise above drivers head in headliner

I was looking around today in my truck with the Key On Engine Off, turned off the climate controls and radio so it was quiet, and right above my head is a hole with perforations. ( I heard this is used for the "AUTO" temp settings). It is a LOUD humming noise, and when you turn the key off, it sounds like a fan spinning hitting something. Anyone ever noticed this before? How do I fix it? Blow air up there?

    Thanks!

super simple, just took out the driver side visor and mount, dropped the driver side a pillar cover and pulled the headliner down.
You remove the part by pulling down on the vent thats above the driver side.
    Then unplug the wiring harness.
Its quiet as can be again!
