AC Recharge, Low Side Service Port

I was going to recharge my AC through the low side service port and noticed it is not a schrader valve, i cant attach the hose from the can of r143 i got onto the port. The threads are inside the valve. Anyone recharge theirs before? What can i do, order a new one that is a schrader valve

Schrader valves ARE NOT used for A/C systems. There are specific valves and quick connectors.

Have you checked your system pressure using a gauge set? I'm assuming no, since you don't seem to have ever connected anything to the service ports. If it's low, there's a leak. If you refill it, it's just going to leak out again. And without proper gauges (the ones on the hoses that come with the cans are junk), you'd just be guessing anyway.

Any idea why the hose with the can wont connect to the valve?

I dont think its extremley low or anything. But it keeps freezing and getting covered with frost. When i have the AC Going it will freeze after time and ill have to hit the snowflake button to get it to melt to come through the vents again

Re: AC Recharge, Low Side Service Port

I had the wrong end of the hose trying to attach to it. Guy at autozone told me the wrong hose end and i didnt even bother to check it out. The other end attached to it. The gauge said it was almost normal, i put some in to get it within the full area on the gauge. Seems to blow much colder now. Going to see if that fixes the freezing issue.
