    XM radio locked up

I have 2013 EXT, with XM.

The other day the XM radio locked up and displayed " Loading XM " for 3 days.

I spent 90 mins on the phone w/ some guy in enginering at XM.
The bottom line is that he said the problem was w/ the radio and not something that XM could fix
by rebooting the radio, which didn't work anyway.

Everything else works fine, AM, FM, Navigation, etc. On every XM channel
all I get is the message display of " Loading XM "

Has anyone else encountered this problem ?

Never heard of that before ... but if you have a 13 you are covered under the Cadillac Shield, so just hand the service rep the keys, get your free loaner, and have them deal with it till it's fixed.

    Hello jason1214,

I am sorry that you are experiencing an issue with your Escalade’s radio locking up on XM. I would suggest taking your vehicle into the dealership so that the service department could look further into this concern. If you would like me to contact the dealership and set you up an appointment to look into this concern, please feel free to private message me. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my post. Please continue to keep us updated.

So either of you guys have any aftermarket iPod etc controllers?

I do and mine froze up and actually lost the XM completely. I had to unhook the xm receiver plug, its behind the glove box easy to get too and unkooked and reconnected.

All is well now. Good luck.

    Re: XM radio locked up

since this has only happened once.....when I was 300 miles from home, I decided to give a pass
until it happens again, then I am going to get the unit changed out. I have already told the dealer the problem and have it documented that it if happens again, then the unit is going to be replaced
So far, no problems since around 10/9/13.

    Hello bizman41,

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing this concern as well with your XM radio. Have you reached out to the XM Customer Care line as well? If not, you can reach out to them at 1-800-852-XMXM (9696). If they are unable to assist you, I would suggest reaching out to your Cadillac dealership as well. If you would like any assistance in setting up an appointment and working with the dealership, I would be happy to assist. Please feel free to private message me or email me at socialmedia@gm.com with “ATTN GREG” in the subject line if you would like to further discuss your concern.
