    Vent valve

    My check engine light came on the other day I took my 08 esv to the dealer they said my vent valve is stuck in the open position has anyone ever had that issue and how did u fix. Thx

    Did they suggest what the possible fix would be for the issue? My guess is they will want to replace the valve and possibly all the valves with an updated valve set that changed over the years to a more durable valve design.

    $500 and that included just the cost and parts to replace the single valve?

    the vent valve or engine valves? the vent valve is about $100 and just a couple hose clamps

    You have to remove the spare tire, I replaced mine as well get the purge valve as well. There was a poor design and GM replaced it also you need the wire harness adapter. The vent goes there the gas pump is velcroed. If your getting a p0496 code you need the whole thing it cost around 200 for parts.

    Disregard my comment, I thought you were referring to the engine valves located inside the engine.
