    Downshifting

Why does it seem that my 08 6.2 awd does not shift to the lowest gear and pull like my 02 6.0 awd did? It has way More power but seems that it needs to get wound up befor it pulls hard? As far as I can tell everything is working properly unless its not hitting the low gear at a 50 mph pedal stomp

Your truck is probably out of warranty, but it should not act like you describe, I had several of the last series and the new trucks I have had a dozen since 07' and they were much better than my 03' or 05', you may need a trans re-flash, some 07's and even later models really came alive after updating the trans software

Talk to the service people at the dealership and ask them, tell them the issues and it should be no charge

I noticed that if I'm going slow and floor it, it comes alive pretty darn well. Also from a dead stop it feels strong, it's just the higher speeds around 50mph that it feels like it needs to come alive better when floored.

    Re: Downshifting

I have noticed similar in my 2012, I believe it to be due to gearing and headwind. The faster you're going the more wind resistance against the truck.

I had a 2002 Chevy Impala base sedan pass me to merge the other day up an onramp and at first I was very upset and could not for the life of me figure out how he was able to accomplish this. 2002 Impala performance is much poorer at least on paper. Only thing I can think of is I was going nearly 60mph which would not let the vehicle shift down to 2nd where the power lies, 3rd is not a power gear imo more of a towing gear for these vehicles anyways. Being 2k heavier, 2% grade, headwind and the fact that the guy had a 3 second jump on me since I did not know he was going to try and pass me, made me a target for demise Not that racing a vehicle of this size is recommended either though

You may need a tune up, are you using something like Techron every 5k in the gas tank? How many miles?
