2007 Escalade rear air shock replacement solutions

I have a set of leaky rear shocks and was wanting some feed back on what everyone else is using. I have seen the Arnott replacement but that is with the auto ride delete. I have looked at the ACDelco but I have found 3 different part numbers. I am looking for the best deal, but I don't want to sacrifice ride quality to save a few $$$. Just wondering what everyone else with this problem is doing.

    Thanks

Anyone have any luck with the Arnott rebuilt shocks? Seems kind of sketchy... old shock with new rubber.

You have to call the dealer with the last 8 digits of your vin number and they will give you the right model. AC Delco doesn't make them anymore there is a company called BWI that is what the dealer uses. Use only the ones from a dealer its not worth it to find out latter. Its even worth it to have the dealer install. I learned the hard way. I had escalades since 1999 and I would rather go to the dealer for shocks. One time I replaced my rear shocks and that wasn't the problem it was the hose leaking.

Thanks for the info... I called the dealership and got the part number based on the VIN. Found the shock they wanted $445.90 + tax a piece for $230.53 a piece shipped to my door.

purchased mine through Arnott's website, direct replacements with goodyear bags and I don't see what the benefit would be purchasing a remanufactured one anyways. New compressor and 2 new year air shocks was around $600 shipped to me plus I will receive $50 back when I send them my old shocks.

Get dealer, I think you should buy locally from a dealer and have them install them, its not worth it to put in your self or do it cheaply from a mechanic. I paid 950 for the 2 installed by sarant Cadillac made by BWI new delco brand. The ride is night and day.

I did the Arnotts also in the rear, same factory air ride. I also did a new compressor. Much cheaper and easy to replace. Just remember to hook the ABS sensors back up after you accidentally disconnect them removing the top shock bolts above the frame. What a dumb place to connect them.

Don't waste money paying dealer prices. This is hands down a fix that any handy garage guy can tackle himself. Arnott's been around forever providing air assisted suspension and they are reputable, respected and helpful. Their remans are a stellar option used by many happy customers.

For those that swap shocks only to find out later there was a line issue, that's just bad diagnostics on their part. This too is another simple fix that won't run you more than 15.00 and 30 minutes of your time. Crack a frosty beverage and handle your business.

I went to O'Reilly's auto parts and have the exact shock for my vehicle. They cost $300 each and the ride is great. Yes I did install them myself, if you have the experience it shouldn't be an issue.

yeah -- i'm gonna pass as my original shocks are still fine -- the dealer suggested that they may be going soft ...
