On a 2010 Escalade, we tried to install a used USB navigation unit from another 2010 escalade and when we took it to a local GM dealership for programming, they told me that any used radio will not reprogram in a 2010 and up Escalade model. They tried it any way and it would not boot.
That does not make any sense as any other escalade, tahoe, or any GM navigation unit for that matter programs to another vehicle using the Tech II programmer.
2007 Escalade Navigation does not adjust to different state
We purchased a used GM escalade navigation system from California and installed it. Everything works fine, but the GPS unit still thinks we are in California.
How do you tell the GPS unit that we are not in California anymore, shouldn't it acclimate?
Did you upgrade from a non nav to a nav unit? I should have asked that before.
Does the screen have the GPS word with the slash?
If it does then it is not getting a signal. When all connected properly, it should automatically pick up your current location.
Re: 2007 Escalade Navigation does not adjust to different state
No it does not come with the antenna. It is a separate piece. I could get the part # when I go into work tomorrow. I've done several of these upgrades, but could never remember the antenna p/n.
Thread merge....let the confusion ensue. Same topic twice OP. :hmm:
