Something Clunking on my 2007 EXT

My 2007 awd EXT has developed a clunking/popping sound when rolling or turning and/or rolling along at slow speeds over bumps.
It seems to be coming from the rear wheels and sometimes from the front when going slow and straightening out the front wheels, but can't hear it when cruising along.
It even does this when just rolling along slowly a smooth road uneven road when the truck sways back and forth from side to side.
It does not clunk when shifting into Drive or Reverse.
It sounds like sheet metal popping if you were to squeeze an old fashion oiling can but has a solid metal sound to it.
Sounds like a loose axle sliding back and forth a bit and metal hitting metal.
I raised the truck and yanked on the wheel and only got a very slight noise.
Can't get anything to move and didn't see anything loose underneath the truck while it was raised.

Anyone experience this kind of clunking/popping sound.
    Thanks

Dif, please email me (Katie_Lucille@gmexpert.com) with the last eight of your VIN if you would like me to check on any recalls that may be open on your Escalade. I realize you're looking for DIY input from helpful forum members, but if you do decide to involve the dealership at any point, just let me know and I can follow up for you.
