Lowering a 2007 Escalade and "Service Suspension" message...

    Just like the title suggests.
I lowered my 07 Escalade recently. (3"-5") I had to inorder to get it to fit inside my older garage.
The front struts were leaking so I had to have them replaced before the lowering guys would mess with it.
Then when they did finally lower it, they found the front sway bar is broken.
Its going back to the dealer to get the sway replaced tomorrow.

Meanwhile, I've noticed the the "Service Suspension" message pops up intermittently. Probably every other time I drive it.
Any ideas on how to get it to stop?
Figured I'd have the dealer run a DTC on it but he'll probably blame the new lowering springs, right? :-)

Also any ideas on bettering the "ride" I've lost with the drop?

    Thanks so much.

Jack007, I'm sorry to hear about your recent frustrations! If you do decide to go in to your dealership so they can check your Road Sensing Suspension system's operation, please let me know. I'm available via email at Katie_Lucille@gmexpert.com and I can always follow-up with your dealership on your behalf.

    Best,

I have the exact same prob. When I lowered it it was fine for a while. Then when I installed the new sway bars, a few days after it started driving like shit and the suspension light came on. It's weird because the back plops when I go over bumps it could be my rear shocks...

Just got it back from the dealer today.
Says its a hard code that can't be erased. All the sensors are plugged in and look okay.
Unless someone figures out a work around, I guess I'm stuck with it.

DID the dealer let you know what codes came out of the error message? when you replaced the struts, did you use factory genuine struts, or aftermarket/non real time dampening struts

The dealer replaced the struts with OEM struts. At $600 each they better be! LOL
Now the message comes up every time I start it after its sat for a while.
I hope I don't have to deal with this for the next few years. I'm sure it will get old. :-(
I have set up an appointment on Monday. They will troubleshoot it and attempt to determine what is sending the codes. No, they did not tell me what the codes were. I assume I will find that out then.
Thanks for the input so far. I will keep all posted as this progresses.

Re: Lowering a 2007 Escalade and "Service Suspension" message...

    Update.
The dealer said that one of the sensors was damaged (supposedly by the guys that lowered it) and a bracket was damaged. This required the replacement of the entire strut. Somehow the strut and sensor are integrated. While this strut was just replaced the other day, my dealer was nice enough to warranty it even though they felt my lowering guys damaged it.
When I fired it up to leave the dealership, the warning message came back! The frustration of the techs was obvious. After turning it back off with the Tech 2, it still came with the same error code. They figured it would come back on and said I should leave it with them another day, and they'd dig into it.
But, amazingly, I purposely started and stopped some 20 times after I left, driving close to 100 miles, and the message has not returned! Considering I could never get it to stay off more than one or two startups before, I hoping its FIXED!
Thanks to all who replied and tried to help!
    Jack
