Dead Battery Problem - Battery or Drain Issue?
hi guys, i am having problems with my 07 Escalade ESV. when it sits in the garage for more than 3 days battery is dead. is it my battery or is there a drain somewhere that i would need to look at like the OnStar for example. any help would be appreciated.
if it is the battery what battery would you recommend? autozone has a great Duralast battery. any thoughts?
thanks

Re: Dead Battery Problem - Battery or Drain Issue?
I had the same problem and I replaced the stock battery. I also installed a second battery. I only use my ESV on weekends.
Give this a try. It should have every answer you will ever need about your battery.
If you still have the stock battery you need to change it.

That thread is worth reading. More people will recommend and Optima battery than any other

There are many good choices, but the stock battery is not one of them.

yes, i had already read it but i will read it through again.
and yes i still do have the stock battery.

i have been looking at Optima batteries for a while now but none of them will fit the escalade, that is why i mentioned the autozone duralast in my original posting.
if you guys know how i can make an Optima fit by all means please tell me. or if you know a model number that would help too.

I run two Odyssey 35-PC1400. They are taller but still work with factory connectors on passenger side and Tahoe police package on the driver's side.

Is it ok to install the second battery while the vehicle is still under warranty? Will the dealer blame any electrical problem on the second battery?

Re: Dead Battery Problem - Battery or Drain Issue?
I have the Optima Yellow Top D34/78 installed in my 2008 EXT in the main battery position and put the stock AC Delco in the second battery tray. The optima required nothing additional or any modifications using the top posts. Picked it up on sale for $179 at Autozone.
