    Frame rust?

Look underneath the rear, on either side of the spare. Is the wax peeling off your frame, causing rust? This probably only is an issue in snow states that salt the roads in winter, but my 2007 looks pretty nasty with 70,000 miles on it.

    Re: Frame rust?

Take a look at your power steering pump , you will be suprised it isn't leaking or hanging in the engine compartment My 02 Chevy Suburban's differential cover rusted through . The tech asked if I owned a boat and backed the trailer into water repeatedly, the rear of the 'Burban was so rusty . I never towed a boat , but snowmobiles yes, lotsa wet salty road , plus the added liquid deicer for below zero salting.

    Re: Frame rust?

Once the wax comes off areas of the frame it can rust, like areas where you jack the truck up. I use an anti rust paint on areas of the frame this happens to, but it pretty easy because I have lifts at my home.
