Hey folks... I have the remote start function on my Fob for the 07 escalade but there is another thing that hangs from my key chain with a button cell attached to it. I am assuming it has some circuitry to help with the remote start because when I leave that at home the remote start does not work.
Any idea what that is and why it is not integrated into the Fob? Also any upgrades available so that I do not have 2 things on my key chain and the Fob package is not that bulky?
The factory remote start feature does not require anything but the main fob. No idea what the "other" thing hanging from your keychain is or why it affects the remote start. Perhaps an aftermarket security device?
Sorry folks. This was me being dumb. I should have read the manual before I posted on here. :bang2:
The car starts just find remotely with the FOB. I just did not know how to do it.
The other thing that is hanging is a spare cell for the FOB that came with the car. I, for some reason thought that it has something to do with the remote start operation.
Glad you got it all figured out. Don't feel too bad, there are a lot of things to learn on these trucks. :yup:
