Tire pressure mis-read?

My 2007 Escalade is reading low pressure at 26 psi and is telling me to check the tire. I added air up to 35lbs, put the sensor will not read above 26psi. It goes down after it has been sitting, so it will adjust down, but not up. Any suggestions??

maybe the battery is going dead? I wouldnt think so but it is worth a thought. I would let the air out of it completely and air it back up again and see what happens.

Did you go for a drive after you filled the tire? You have to get the sensors up to at least 15 mph to turn them on and re-adjust after sitting to make the pressure change on your DIC, unless you have a reset tool, that turns the sensors on too. You may have to do a tire pressure sensor relearn.

I did not have to drive mine to get them to work, I set the pressure by reading the dash, as I put air in the dash reading increased. I run 45 in them, but when they are cold over night it shows 40,41,40,41. When hot it shows 44,45,44,45. Pretty dang close. I tried to get them all at 45 and gave up. I have 18"

If you "wake the sensors" by either driving to "turning them on" or what you did by adding and releasing air, or by reset tool then it will read on the DIC, but if you just add air to a tire that has not been driven the DIC will keep reading the same, unless you release air while filling the tire

^^ That's how mine work. Seems I have to get to about 22 mph for them to work though. That seems to be my sensors magic number.

The service manual says 15, but I am sure there is a give or take amount.

i have 26" and have been monitoring this pretty closely as well since i only have about 3.5" of rubber around the rim. when its cold it is around 40-41psi and after driving and braking they get up to the 45psi mark that i filled them to.

question... should i have them set at 50psi instead of 45? i've read some guys that are running higher psi on lower pro wheels like these. i haven't had any issues so far, but i also know it only takes once and i'd rather not learn the hard way lol

I have nitrogen in my 24's and 26's, it keeps from expending much less than just air. I set my 26's at 43, they hit 45 at full temp, many tire shops offer this and some industrial gas suppliers too
