Voice Recognition

On a 2009 Escalade ESV with nav. I can't get the voice recognition to control the radio system. Works just fine with the nav system. Maybe I am not using the correct terminology? Any help would be appreciated. Or if this has already been discussed in a different thread a link? Thanks in advance.

I wish I could help, my 2008 does not have voice recongnition - or at least I am not aware of it.

TO use VR on the radio, the sequence is "Radio (select) <station ID> <XM/FM/AM>, so saying "Radio 5 XM" will take you to channel 5 on the XM band- the word select is optional.
THe system should repeat back what you said and then change the radio

You can also use it to get to CD's with CD 1 Play.
I'm sure there are a bunch more commands (try radio select help) but those are the ones I use all the time.

I have on 08, and it does sometimes have issues with VR commands being ignored or being repeated back and the radio doesn't change or getting a "command not available at this time" error.
THere is supposedly a TSB that fixes it, but no dealer can get the disk, they're on back order (and seem to have been since the 08 rolled out)
