Should I get another Escalade?

Remove this ad
I had an 07' ext for a while and I really liked it. After trying to pick out a new truck to try something new I found that the only truck I like is the escalade. I called my dealer and they are not leasing them at the moment and haven't been for the past few months now and don't know when they will be offering any leasing options again. The only option is to buy it. Do you guys think it is worth buying a new escalade with all the problems they have been having and the stupid changes they are making to the available "accessories" and options? Is it time to look for a new brand of trucks?

Re: Should I get another Escalade?

save yourself some money and find a used 08 and you'll own it for less than a lease price. with the factory warranty you'll be fine.

Re: Should I get another Escalade?

08 models go for about 38 here in SoCal. my 3 yr lease will end up costing me about the same..remember it might be the last time you will be able to buy a real Escalade... after they do what they do and don't listen to their costumer base.....escalade might become a much smaller and more BMW x5 like sized car.

Re: Should I get another Escalade?

I would return your current truck, and find a low mileage '08. You should be able to get one for about $35,000. If you don't want to go this route, try looking at the new '10 Range Rovers.

Re: Should I get another Escalade?

Not counting my second 2007 Escalade, the exploding one, my two 07's, my one 08' and my one 09' have yet to go back to the dealership for any warranty work or any problems. Not sure you can get a nice low mileage 08' for 35k to 38k because they are giving me 40k for my 2007 trade on my 2010, but that truck only has 13k miles on it, so I am sure you can find a high mileage 08' for less. The only very stupid change I see it the dropping of the Rainsensing wipers, the 2009 added bluetooth and the 2010 will finally play an iPod or iPhone and change it too, that is Caddy really staying on top of things

I would get another Escalade if i were you. Its miles ahead of the competition and all aspects. My uncle has a 06 Navigator Ultimate and its total crap compared to the Cadillac.

My mom has had her Escalade for almost 3 months, and i have had my EXT almost 2 -- you couldn't talk us into any other truck/SUV -- especially on the deals we got with them being new '08's

Re: Should I get another Escalade?

Hello everyone, this is my first post so please don't give me to hard of a time All i can say is that I had an 07 escalade and "decided" to get something smaller a year and a half ago to save on gas...an FX35 (crap) and Audi S4 (fun but small and troublesome) later and I can now say i am the proud owner of a escalade once again, a new 2008 escalade ext (could not justify the price difference for a 09 over an 08). So, yes go ahead and get another one!

Re: Should I get another Escalade?

I got an 09 yesterday--and, today I had my first day in the shop. Last night there was an awful grinding noise under the dash--would not go away. Thankfully it was still doing it when I got to dealer.

They say there was some rubbing between tranny stick and ac. Seems to be gone --I hope. The blind spot deal was acting up too but they say there is a fix on the way. It works but just comes up "inoperable" at times.

Good news is my 09 CTS-V is 10 months old, 12K miles and never been in.

Re: Should I get another Escalade?

Sounds like guys in here are split on whether or not to get another Escalade. Next year, my wife is going to back to work after a four year hiatus; when she does, we will finally have some discretionary funds available. My hope is to talk her into replacing our 2004 Honda Pilot with an 07 or 08 Escalade. It does not necessarily need to be fully loaded. I actually don't even care about NAV or these "rain-sense" wipers Bluetooth would be nice, but that is simple for me to install myself.

What do you think a decent 07-08 Lade would go for, say, next fall?

Blind Zone _acting up

Congrats on your new purchase.
I also got my wife a 09 Escalade ESV AWD- she loves it too
but I wanted to ask you about the same issue of the Blind Zone Alert not working at times...you mentioned that it happened to you and that there's a fix ?

what did the dealer tell you ?

I haven't taken hers in because it works most of the time...and then occassionally, it stops intermittenly.
