Voice commands for escalades with nav ?

I just figured out there are some voice commands built into the the nav system, and have been looking for a complete list of the available voice commands.

Does anybody have such a list, or a website were this is listed ?

I think there is a list in the manual, but if you use the button to activate the voice and say "help" she will start prompting you with the options. There are not many and some useful commands are not implemented (such as "zoom in" and "zoom out"). I find it fairly useless but it's a check mark on the features list ("voice activated radio and navigation controls").

Say "navigation help" or "radio help" and it should take you to an on screen display of all the voice commands.
Once in you should be able to select different sub systems to see what commands you can issue using the VR.
A "complete list" is hard to find and if you do find it, it's huge!

Maybe it matters what software version one has? On my older (but soon-to-be-updated as my dealer has a disk, now!) system, I don't get anything on-screen and I do have a list of commands in my manual and it's short (the "navigation help" works to have her recite to me the three or four options I have). I do hope it gets better... I want "zoom in" and "zoom out" as well as "go to John Smith" where "John Smith" is in my address book... I believe these were supported in other Cadillac vehicles (like the SRX) but were not in the system in my '07 ESV.

Please post the results once your dealer applies the upgrade. I'm very interested in your experience.

On a related note, has anyone investigated swapping in the OnStar module from the 09 to an 07 or 08. Could we get the upgraded voice command and Bluetooth capabilities this way?

Hi are you saying that the Nav headunit's firmware in our cars can be updated with a Disc by the dealer or were you referring to the new 2009 Nav DVD?

There is a software update for '07/'08 that gets it to what hte '09 is (or something close). I'll post all the details, again (they are in another thread, here) once I get it done and it works like it's supposed to... no sense repeating stuff here that I have no proof is really correct! I hope this gets done next week.

Hello, I am new to this board and just got a new 08 lade, my problem is when I say radio xm I do get this but I dont get the channel I want like when I say channel 5 or any channel number, I have tried everything, I called customer service with no help there, they just read to me what is in the nav manual, please help
