Re: Corsa Exhaust???

I purchased the Corsa Touring with twin 4" rear outlet tips from autopartswarehouse.com in 2/08 for $1069. I had it on the truck for 2 weeks and took it off. The reasons?

1. Did not like the sound. Actually mellower than stock. The factory exhaust sounded better, IMO. Maybe the Sport version would be better (?). The muffler on the Touring version is HUGE.

2. Absolutely no difference in power that I could feel.

3. Corsa system is 3" in diameter. The factory system is 3 1/2". Larger diameter pipe gives a DEEPER tone, which personally is what I was looking for. Why downgrade from what GM gave you?

4. Did not like the look. The whole thing hung too low from the rear axle back to the bumper, IMO. Looked like a junky add-on to an expensive truck.

After putting the stock system back on, I installed Flowmaster PN# 53553 in place of the stock muffler. This is a 3.5" in/out muffler and is very close in length to the stock muffler so it fit well. I also had a single 3 1/2" diameter polished stainless steel tip welded to the stock tailpipe. The resonator was left in place. I am VERY HAPPY with both the look and sound of my system - it is PERFECT!!! Exactly what I was looking for! It is definitely meaner than stock but is also very deep and has no resonance. At highway cruise speed you can barely tell the difference (it's still a Cadillac, after all) but when you get on it, it sounds MEAN!!! The Corsa sounded like a stock V6. This is the ultimate exhaust system for the Escalade, IMO.

BTW, I put the Corsa on Ebay and after two 7-day auctions got $250 for it. I thought I would have to give the thing away.

Re: Corsa Exhaust???

I have Corsa on one truck and B&B on the other truck, the Corsa is rear exit, I did feel a SOTP performance difference after installing the Corsa exhaust, my trucks also have Volant air intake and Preditor programmer. The stock exhaust is 3 1/4" and I would have kept and used that except that the factory crushes the rear tail pipe by about 40% for install at the factory, and that restricts the flow too much, Corsa uses a 3" system but there is no crushed in area on the tail pipe, this results in a better flow than stock. My Corsa system is the Touring system it is louder than stock at idle and at full throttle. Search around you will find some deals.

Re: Corsa Exhaust???

I wonder why no one seems to like the GM performance cat-back? I was fortunate to get one from Carl but I think it looks and sounds great.

Re: Corsa Exhaust???

I had the Sport with headers on my 03', it was louder than my 700 hp Z06, traded them for the Touring muffler, was happy with the trade.
