Changing 22" wheels to 20" wheels for towing - worth the trouble?

I've got the OEM 'sport package' 22" wheels, and while I've not had any trouble towing my 6000lb enclosed race car trailer, I figure the 20" would be better for towing, and for mileage. The 20's weren't an OEM option when I got the Escalade, so I couldn't get them at the time I picked out my '07.

Should I go through the trouble of finding 20" wheels and switching (either trading with my 22's or selling the 22's and buying 20's) or is it not really worth it in the end?

How do 20's look on the '07- Escalades anyway?

20's ride better than 22's and 18's ride better than 20's, talking the same serier tires, going smaller will make your brakes work better and less wear on tear on the truck in general, if you do a lot of towing it maybe worth it. If I get an 09' Escalade I am planning on getting 20's for my winter tires, that way I can use big brakes, and I may leave them on all year long.

Re: Changing 22" wheels to 20" wheels for towing - worth the trouble?

To me 20s are the perfect balance. I wish they were available from the factory too. Given the choice of 18s or 22s, I had to go with the 18s for snow/winter purposes. Its a lease too, so no buying winter/summer rims for me. If I were you and did A LOT of towing, I would step down from 22s for all the reasons stated above.
