Re: Nav Disc Upgrade

I don't know if my burner will do a double layer DVD. Haven't knowingly tried. Willing to give it a shot if someone sends me thier DVD.

Other than that, I'm willing to go $20 and a blank DVD. (shipping too).

Let me know when you get enough people Rocco. Also when you try it, if your burner doesn't do it, we can try it on mine.
Just letting you know I'm available to help you get this done.

If your burner is newer it should do the job.

Re: Nav Disc Upgrade

here is some info that may help
1. the best DL discs to use are "FujiFilm" (that's what I use) and "Verbatim" (never tried it but heard its the best too)
2. there is free software that will do the job is http://www.dvddecrypter.org.uk/
3. make sure you burn disc at the 1 x speed (or may not work)
4. I have newest disc file ripped already, but have no idea where I can upload it, it's almost 5 gig file
the strange thing is, Nav discs for Tahoes and Yukons are 7.61 gig. and the ones for Escalades are only 4.65 gig

Re: Nav Disc Upgrade

How do you find out when the release dates are? When is/was the newest release?
I think with Toyota (wife's 4Runner), it has been around June each year.

Re: Nav Disc Upgrade

So can anyone tell me the id number/model number of the newest disc? I may try to source it from ebay, maybe save a couple of bucks?

Then once i get it, i'll let everyone know and you can PM me if you want one. I spoke with my brother in law last night and he's in IT and said he can make them, so should be fine. Oh yeah and I'll test it of course.

Re: Nav Disc Upgrade

OK i just bought one off of ebay. (part # 25853487) I paid $85 plus $25 shipping so $110.00. If any one wants one please PM me. The cutoff is June 1/08 and then i will add up all the people and divide by $110; then add $10 for shipping/dvd. If we can get 10 guys plus me it will be $20 each. (I know $10 sounds like alot but i have to ship internationally to everyone)
