Towing - Ball mount

How many inches is your ball mount dropped to keep your trailer level? Right now I have a 2" drop and the toung is way to high. Which is better a 4" or 6" drop?

Re: Towing - Ball mount

It depends on what you are towing, I have 2", 4" and 6" drops, my big trailer uses a 4", my smaller open trailer uses a 6"

Re: Towing - Ball mount

I'll save you a ton of headaches. Purchase a pintle receiver and the correct ball attachment.
Pintle - http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...70_22067_22067
2" Ball for pinlte - http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...9601_200329601
Northern Tool has a 10K lbs hitch for arounf $50 that adapts to the receiver -not pictured on their website. You can change out the ball size if needed.
The isn't pretty, but it allow you to adjust as requirted to correctly level your trailer.
Regards,
Tom
