2007 Drop In Gas Mileage

I have 2007 Escalade that will be 2 years old at the end of May. Over the past few months I've seen my average gas mileage drop about 1 mpg from 14.6 to 13.7. The whole time I've been using premium from the same gas station. Does anyone have any suggestions on what could be causing the drop?

Re: 2007 Drop In Gas Mileage

Did you make any modifications? Tuner/programmer, wheels/tires, intake/exhaust? These can adversely effect mpg.

Also keep up with regular maintenance: Oil changes, Air filter, differential fluid changes.

Or maybe you or another authorized driver is being too heavy footed these days?

Re: 2007 Drop In Gas Mileage

Do you check the air pressure in your tires every few weeks, a few lb drop in tire pressure could do that, use a good tire gauge rather than what the pressure sensors say.

You really want a drop in fuel mileage put 24's or 26's on your truck.

Re: 2007 Drop In Gas Mileage

I haven't made any mods. I have a set of 22's on the truck. But like I said, since I've had it up until a few months ago I was averaging 14.6 and now I'm getting 13.7. No changes in driving habits or anything. I was curious to see if anyone has experienced something like this and brought it in or knew something.

hcvone,
What do you recommend for pressure? My tires say do not exceed 50. I've been running around 40.

Re: 2007 Drop In Gas Mileage

I would run 36-38, you are running 40, other than a little harsher ride that will work too
