As for the new Escalade, all I can say is WOW. The used SUV market is very, very soft and I cannot believe what I paid for the Cadillac. |

It does not have every option (no nav or dvd), but does have 22s, brand-spanking new tires, a custom grill, and the cooled seats option (great in Florida where I live). The car is 19 months old (date from first delivery) and based on my understanding of the MSRP and the sale price, it's at about 50% of its value.
So far, I have not noticed any noteworthy wind noises or creaks. Maybe I'm still too enamered with the vehicle to notice. In reading some of the problems folks have reported about their 07's on this site, I can see where some folks might be upset about their 70k car having so many issues. But at 30k, I may be willing to put up with a few more problems. |

Although, I may have to go out and spend a few extra grand on some security equipment in the very near term. Given all of the theft reports here, I'm already anticipating the truck missing when I walk out the door. |

Been doing that for years. If they really want it, they will get it anyway. All depends on where you live I guess. |

My lease is up December of 09 and if I can purchase it outright for around 30K it will be a hard decision whether to lease a new one or do the buy out.
I like some of the upgrades on the new 09 but also Very happy with my 07 since I solved 95% of the wind noise.
The 2010 models will be out by lease end and with GM dropping the Escalade refresh of the front end I'll be doing some thinking before making a move.
My 07 EXT replaced my 04 EXT.
To each his own, and all the different manufacturer's have their problems, but I don't see anything that compares to the Escalade line, all things considered.
I can't see anything else I'd rather be driving and I've looked pretty hard at what's out there.
Also, 403 horse with 20 MPG highway is hard to beat ... I love it. |

Historically, GM has been very difficult/impossible to negotiate down on the buyout price regardless of actual market value at lease end. With gas etc, who knows if they will change that policy. If they do, I will buy mine as well at lease end with 30,000 miles on it for 30k or less certified. If they demand the $36,000 in my agreement uncertified, forget it.
2. Amen. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
