2008 New Style Key Fob WORKS on my 2007 Escalade!

Despite all of the research I have done on this site that shows the "new style" 08 remote will not work on the 07 Escalade, I still bought one on ebay for $40. I just programmed it in my driveway and it worked!!! It took about 30 seconds to program all 3 remotes. All functions- remote start, both hatch, lock/unlock. All 3 of my remotes work!

Here is the ebay auction I won - I think he has one more: (also has a lot of ladies shoes fo sale!!???)

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...192197887&rd=1

I don't see any part numbers. My car was built 2/07. I recommend buying one on ebay and see if it works. If it doesn't, just sell it on ebay! You might lose $10 on shipping to find out if it will work!

Now I don't have to spend $10k to get the new remote!

    Good Luck- Tony

Great! Finally, you won't have to carry around those Chevy-Ponitac, etc. grade remotes

I was pretty stoked on the new fob, and I got one with this SRX rental while my car having service done. It has a nicer design, but it was also significantly larger and heavier.

    Thanks for the information.

My 08' SRX has the new FOB, don't like it in my pocket as much, the edges are pointy and it is heavier, nicer looking for sure, but the plastic ones have worked just fine. Thanks for the update telling us that they will work.

Ditto. Not a functional or convenient "improvement". Sure does look nice though.

I do agree that it only "looks" better. It is a little awkward to hold when compared to the old ones.

How did you program it by yourself , you didn't had to go to your dealer to do it, because I got one of of ebay but for 50 $ from the same guy yu got it too, but still is a good deal, and I would like to program it , since the dealer here is closed till the 10th of Jan.

Can you post the procedure, thanks.

I think it's in the owners manual the process for reprogramming the fob, if not the service manual. The programming is next after the tire pressure sensor programming mode

Re: 2008 New Style Key Fob WORKS on my 2007 Escalade!

Hcvone I followed your suggestion and OH how right you were, I even looked at the manual last week trying to see if there is a way to do that without going to the dealer, but I didn't find it. Even though also last week i changed my wheels and tires with the winter ones and it was always there after the procedure to relearn the air pressure sensors.
I did program it and it works like a charm, it is a bit bulky , but it is better than the cheapo made in china look ones.
Also bearing in mind that in another topic , I personally talked with the Cadillac representatives from the factory and they confirmed to me that the new remote will not work at all with the 07's. and then I abandoned the idea , till I found it on Ebay and got it cheap and said what the heck.
So for me it was worth it , I don't know about you guys but I like it.

Normally, when you buy new remote fob from Ebay, the seller will include the instruction how to program new remote. It's very easy. I haven't done on my Esc yet but I did buy 2 remotes for my FX45 on ebay. It took me less than 2 minutes reading the instruction and programmed the remotes. It worked like a CHAMP. Dealer sells for $150/remote

Page #249 of the owners manual

    1) Press the vehicle information button until Press v To Relearn Remote Key displays
    2) Press the set/reset button until Remote Key Learning Active is displayed.
    3) Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the first transmitter at the same time for about 15 seconds.
4)To match additional transmitters at this time repeat Step #3
5)To exit the programming mode you must cycle the key to lock

After reading this I too was persuaded to get one. I had to look through several pages of fobs to find one that doesn't have the liftgate button since I have a EXT. I hope it works or I will have to talk to my dealer and see if I can trade it for another one.(fob) This forum is great(expensive) but great. Bring on the next mod.
